Rarely do you hear a story about a friendship between a human and a fish, but this is one such story and it lasts for 25 years. That’s right, you’ve heard it right!
A Japanese man named Hiroyuki Arakawa met his special friend, an Asian sheepshead wrasse, decades ago and named her Yoriko. They met by the Shinto religion’s underwater shrine and the trust that the fish has in her favorite human is unbelievable. Not only is Yoriko comfortable around the human, she even lets Arakawa kiss and fondle her. Their relationship grew over the years, especially after the Japanese saved her life by feeding the exhausted fish for 10 days because she wasn’t able to catch her own food.
